Dataset access settings

A dataset can have one of the following statuses and visibility levels assigned.

Publishing Status

• Draft

'Draft' datasets are in preparation and only people within your own group can access them, according to their roles.

• Published

Accessible based on role/group in your organisation. If the visibility is 'open', the dataset can be accessed by anybody (no log in required).

• Published - On request

Users can see the high level of metadata for a dataset and can request access to it. When the visibility is set to ‘Open’ the high-level metadata is available to the public. When the visibility is set to ‘Private, the high-level metadata is available to members of your organisation. A user requesting access needs to have an account on the platform to get the dataset shared with them.

Dataset Visibility

• Open

Discoverable to the public if the dataset is published.

• Private

Accessible only to members of your organisation and external users that had the dataset shared with them (log in required).
