You are best to save your csv as a UTF-8 encoded version of csv in order to ensure that all symbols etc are picker up properly here. The most recent versions of workbooks enable data to be saved in this format if not already in that format. An example of doing that in excel is shown here.

This for example allows the euro symbol “€” to be included within the API rather than some encoding types which replace the € symbol with something else. This can lead to a loss in quality of the data as it is less interpretable.
